Whether you want to reinforce your technique, or a total beginner, this course is perfect for those wanting a solid foundation in the dance. If you've been doing beginner classes on Thursday nights, this workshop will add the missing links in your dancing. We will cover the 14 core West Coast Swing patterns as well as concepts like the anchor, post and the magical "stretch" that makes the dance look and feel fantastic.
In addition to the core patterns, concepts we will cover include:
- Posture, frame and body position
- Contra body movement and pulsing
- Leading and following from the Centre Point of Balance
- Understanding musical theory – phrasing, breaks and accents
- Sending and receiving foot, body flight
- Control of the Centering Knob
- Rolling count
- Handholds
- Bridging the gap - transitioning from beginner to intermediate

Fresh off the plane from 3 months in the US, Scott is brimming with new patterns and awesome styling. I (Bianca) have a couple of things up my sleeve as well, having just returned from Swing Diego and another round of private lessons with some sensational pro's. This workshop will cover:
Musicality for leaders and followers
Intermediate/Advanced Scott-infused patterns
Upper level technique
Please note this workshop is aimed at upper level intermediate dancers. As a guide, you should be comfortable with Thursday night intermediate class.
